Hi, I’m Hann. I recently completed my undergrad degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at Harvard, and then moved to Vancouver to work as a Scientific Communications Coordinator at STEMCELL Technologies. This means I do a lot of writing about science (for scientists), as well as come up with crazy ideas and projects that I hope people find memorable and meaningful. While in college, I wrote plays for an interactive theater troupe, and was heavily involved in promoting public awareness of biological sciences – e.g. organizing one of the largest North American Darwin Day celebrations in 2009.
    +1

We need some footage of the double helix. Does anyone have footage they can pass along? Does it have to be rights-cleared for the film competition?
    Thx!

I think this year’s GeneScreen challenge is an amazing opportunity to educate young students about the revolutions roaring by in science!

    Let’s talk more.

I am a filmmaker, planning to enter the competition. I am a writer/director but happy to collaborate on other scripts as a director. So, if you have a script idea, whether you’re a scientist or a script writer, please let me know. Meanwhile, I am now working on deciding on an idea.

I am planning to shoot early August, so will start assembling crew in mid July.
Drop me a line if you’re interested whether you’re a crew member or writer.
    Looking forward to it.

Hi, I’d like to make a couple of questions…

I would like to submit 2 videos. One is a more scientifically detailed breakdown of a particular genetic illness.
The other has less scientific fact; it’s more a detailed look at how a particular genetic condition has altered someone’s life. I’m much more proud of the second film.

Is it possible to submit both? If not, is the second film still appropriate?

Also, there is mention that the submission must have the leader footage containing the Genescreen logo. Where do I get this?

Hi, I am a student at Columbia Academy studying post-production, and I am able to to do sound editing for films that need it.
    Thanks
